Estero Real Estate

Estero is sandwiched along Florida’s Gulf Coast between Naples to the south and Fort Myers to the north. For many years, Estero was a citrus community. Today, it lays claim to Florida Gulf Coast University, Hertz Corporation’s headquarters, Hertz Arena, Miromar Outlets, and Coconut Point Mall. Estero has become the center of Southwest Florida’s retail activity due to its proximity to both Fort Myers and Naples.

Estero has many upscale, gated housing developments, many with resort style swimming pools, fitness centers, golf courses and tennis courts. Comprehensive master-planning has allowed this community to emerge in a structured and organized manner. The Estero Community Plan provides a set of standards around commercial development including architecture, signage and landscaping. As part of the approval process for a new development, open meetings are held to gather input from the community.

Education is a priority in Estero. The community is centered around Florida Gulf Coast University. The university, which opened in 2000 and offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees in a wide variety of subjects, has attracted educators, administrators, and entrepreneurs to this rapidly growing community.

In addition, significant recreational options are available including the 10,000-acre Estero Bay Preserve State Park, the Koreshan State Historic Site and the 65-acre Estero Community Park and Recreation Center.
