Pier at Sunset FMB

Fort Myers Beach Real Estate

The white sand beaches, beautiful nature, and lively entertainment draw over 1 million visitors to Fort Myers Beach each year. With a beautiful white sand beach, live entertainment, restaurants, water sports, and a large fishing pier, Fort Myers Beach has something to offer for everyone. The coastal portion of the town is located on Estero Island, which is a seven mile long, narrow barrier island in Lee County, Florida. Both locals and vacationers are drawn to Fort Myers Beach for sunsets, entertainment, and restaurants. Fort Myers Beach is an excellent location for a day on the beach, fishing, dining, evening entertainment, and water sports.

The island has several large marinas servicing a wide range of watercraft. Because of the relative calm in the back bay and ease of access to the Gulf of Mexico, the waters around the island are dotted with large yachts, sailboats, US Coast Guard vessels, and small fishing boats. In addition to sun bathing and people watching, jet skiing, volleyball, and parasailing are popular activities on the beach. A day on the water is likely to bring memories that last a lifetime. Dolphins, otters, osprey, and manatee are commonly seen in the waters around the island.

There are a wide variety of housing options on the island ranging from very simple garden apartment style condos to luxury, gulf front high rises and large, waterfront single family residences. In recent years, housing on the island has been going through a redevelopment transformation. The community was once dominated by relatively modest stilt homes with wood pilings and relatively small living spaces. Developers have been constructing an ever increasing number of new, luxury homes. As the cottages are torn down and the new, luxury homes are constructed, the community has become more upscale.
