In 1921 a devastating hurricane made landfall in Southwest Florida. As a result, Captiva Island was separated into two islands and Upper Captiva was formed. Upper Captiva is a beautiful, rustic island that is only accessible by boat or airplane (yes, they have an airstrip). A large portion of the island is owned by the state for preservation and the beaches are natural, rustic, and pristine.

The island has a couple of restaurants, swimming pools, tennis courts, and a stunningly beautiful beach. Roads on the island are unpaved and people get around primarily by foot and golf cart. Upper Captiva is a wonderful place to reconnect with nature and the people we care about most.

In addition to homes available for sale, there are a wide range of weekly and monthly rental properties available.
